FIFA WORLD CUP 2022 AT GCTE!!!⚽️⚽️

Kerala’s love for football started long before India’s first cricket world cup win in 1983, 1983 Win made Cricket more popular than any other sports in India. Kerala hosted its first international cricket match only in 1984.But in football so many foreign clubs and clubs from outside Kerala has visited in many tournaments in Kerala like the Sait Nagjee Tournament in Calicut.

There are also 7s tournament in Kerala under floodlights and temporary stadium built on palm trees which draws a huge attendances. These tournaments are mainly held in the Malabar region of Kerala. African players from Nigeria, Sudan, Ghana also takes part in these competitions.




Kerala hosted Santosh Trophy in 1950s but first won only in 1970s thus made football even popular. Kerala had many International Footballers and Captains like I M Vijayan, V P Sathyan, C V Pappacnan , C K Vineeth, Anas Edatodika. There were also many footballers who participated in Olympics from Kerala in yhe 50s and 60s . The fitst Crorepati in Indian Football is Muhammed Rafi from Kerala.






There is also thousands of Followers for European clubs and the FIFA world cup is one of the most celebrated events in all over Kerala with Flexes,Flags and Cutout of players, giant screenings and discussuons.

                                           

 

With ISL and Kerala Blasters inception football has even more popularity that it lost in some years. There were also teams from Kerala in the I League and older first divisions but have not made a impact like Kerala Blastes. The telecast of ISL in Malayalam is also popular.






On 25 November ,2022 GCTE organised World cup prediction contest for football enthusiasts. Along with students ,teachers also participated in the prediction contest.Let's see which team will win the word cup in Qatar!! I also predicted the winners, but I am not revealing it in this blog.😉

 മൂന്നാം ദിവസവും ആരംഭിച്ചത് ജിതി ടീച്ചറിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള എയ്റോബിക് സെഷനോട് കൂടിയാണ്... ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വേണ്ട പ്രചോദനം നൽകാനും ടീച്ചറിന് കഴിഞ്ഞു.. അതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ഈ സെഷൻ വളരെ മികച്ചതായിരുന്നു... തുടർന്ന് പതിവുപോലെ ക്യാമ്പ് ന്യൂസ്‌ സെഷൻ അധ്യാപക വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളിൽ ആവേശം സൃഷ്ടിച്ചു.. ഇന്നത്തെ സെഷൻ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തത് Shaji N Raj സർ ആയിരുന്നു.. സെഷന് സ്വാഗതം ആശംസിച്ചത് ഞാൻ ആയിരുന്നു...
