MEMORABLE DAY AT GOVT.MODEL LPS,THYCAUD๐Ÿ˜

18/11/2022 is one of the most memorable day in my life....We visited Govt.Model LPS ,Thycaud as a part of experimental learning practices in elementary school space on 18th November 2022 at 10.30 AM.The school was so different from others.Plants on school surroundings, studio,wall paintings,hall and everything in the school gives you an experience. Rahul sir has already told us that this school will give you different experience. But literally this particular government school has surprised us in every manner.We named this visit as ' เด’เดฐു เด•ുเดŸ്เดŸ เด•เดณിเดช്เดชാเดŸ്เดŸเดตും เด’เดฐു เดตเดŸ്เดŸി เดชെเตปเดธിเดฒും ', because we gifted them a box of pencils ,toys and some books.We gifted them a christmas tree and they will decorate it during christmas time.We gave them papers for doing craft work.

 


We performed some science experiments ,action song to entertain the students.Story telling , songs and word games also performed to entertain the students.I noticed one thing that the students never say 'no'.They are ready to do anything and they all are so enthusiastic. I think this clearly shows how the students are trained in this particular school.In the absence of  head master Shaji sir , Sunitha teacher explained about the school and their different approach for training the students. The students in the particular school have no books but they are enjoying their curriculum more realistically. The paintings on the wall and surroundings and the smile on the face of students and teachers tell us beautiful stories of the school even without the use of words.

The smart classrooms are being set up for students of Class I and II. The school had received Samagra Shiksha, Kerala, funding for upgrade of its pre-primary section to excellence. After covid times, the teachers also went the extra mile since those students have not had any experience of primary schooling, and they wanted the children to explore all the possibilities that offline classes provided. Since funding was an issue at short notice, the staff members pitched in.The classrooms, on the first floor of the building, are for two divisions each of Class I and Class II.Furniture in the classrooms has been made more child-friendly.  Their height too has been reduced to suit the younger children. They are colourful too, in rainbow colours instead of drab monotones.The walls of the classrooms have been painted to resemble themes from their textbooks. The Class I wall depicts the cover of their Malayalam textbook that is from the first chapter Tarayude Veedu and is immensely relatable to children. There are trees, skies and birds, cows, goats, and hens, coconut palms, huts, wells, and hills. Even other subjects such as Mathematics can be learnt by taking a look at the classroom wall.Work on the other three classrooms is nearing completion. They too have similar thematic walls and colourful furniture. The classrooms also have projectors, digital board, white board, and so on.

The teachers together contributed 1.3 lakh for work on the classrooms. School authorities say they had 200 students last year, but this year the number has increased to 300. There are plans to launch a challenge to transform the classrooms for students of Classes 3 and 4 too.



Throughout the visit ,we heard a name continuously and the name is 'Shaji Sir". We get to know that he is the mastermind behind all these transformation. During the lockdown he lived in the school and transformed it into a better one.His commitment towards the school is remarkable. Unfortunately we couldn't meet him due to his health issues ,but I hope I can meet him soon. I really want to congratulate him and his team from my bottom of heart for their efforts. I have no words to praise them. I am really happy to see such hardworking teachers. I would like to thank Rahul sir for organizing this visit and all other teachers for their immense support.

Truly, this is an amazing experience.....I think everyone should see this school...and I am sure this will be a life time experience for everyone....๐Ÿ˜Š
